Laundry

Go to the nearest laundry room in your building or search for open machines by using the CSC Go app. 

When loading machines, make sure you do not overcrowd them. By keeping load sizes small to medium, you help ensure that your clothes come out properly washed and rinsed. An easy tip to remember is that the machine should look half full before you run it. 

When using a washing machine: 

• If using liquid detergent, measure out the size for one load and pour it into the designated detergent drawer. Be sure to not use too much detergent—adding too much to the machine may prevent it from properly spinning out the excess water.
• If you use detergent pods, place them directly in the machine where you put your clothes—not where you would add liquid detergent. If you add the pod to the liquid detergent drawer, your clothes will not come out clean.

When using a drying machine:

• Make sure the lint trap is cleared prior to running the cycle; this will make sure your clothes dry as best as possible.
• Do not overcrowd the machine, as this could result in the load not drying completely. 

Once you load your machine, use the QR code on the front of the machine to start and pay for the cycle. 

In the CSC Go app, select "Pay using risdbucks." After selecting this option, you will be prompted to log into your RISD credentials. This allows CSC Go to use your risdbucks, the only payment method for laundry on campus. 

Note: If you select "Save student card to account," your information will be saved and you will not need to log in each time you do a load of laundry. 

Once you pay via the CSC Go app, you will see a screen with a large start button. Pressing this button will start the machine and give you a time estimate of when the cycle will complete.
