Your RISD ID Card

Your RISD ID card is your key to accessing the essentials of campus life. Below you’ll find out where and how to use your card, how to replace it, and more.

More than just identifying you as a member of the campus community, your RISD ID card gives you entry into campus buildings and lets you take advantage of basic RISD services and student benefits. Card uses include:

  • accessing campus buildings and facilities using our card scan system. (Note that access is managed by Card Services and often varies according to your role at RISD.)
  • using your meal plan on campus in place of payment.
  • using your RISD Bucks account to pay for laundry and printing.
  • checking out books at The Fleet Library, Providence Athenaeum and Brown University libraries.
  • gaining free use of Rhode Island’s public bus system, RIPTA.

About Card Services

Located in the first-year quad, Card Services is your main resource for RISD ID card support. To make your life at RISD efficient and convenient, we help facilitate a variety of important campus processes, such as building access, dining transactions, library checkout and more.
