The Department of Public Safety (DPS) works 24/7 to keep community members safe across the college’s urban campus. DPS controls campus, oversees the on-demand RISD Rides service, and offers training, education and other resources to enhance community safety.

Subscribe to RISDAlerts, RISD’s mass notification system, to receive real-time updates in the event of a campus emergency.

Personal safety
Find out how to access RISD Rides, is a door-to-door transportation service for students, faculty, and staff with an active RISD ID.
Obtain a personal alarm keychain from DPS. This device can emit a highly audible sound to attract the attention of people who can come to your aid, and possibly deter potential threats.
