Student health insurance dashboard

Overview

Per RISD policy, all students must carry comprehensive health insurance. Our student health plan (managed by University Health Plans and offered by UnitedHealthcare) provides qualifying health coverage as required under US federal healthcare law. You may also voluntarily elect dental and vision coverage. Vision care and dental plans are not included in the core health insurance plan and additional costs are due at time of enrollment.

Both domestic and international students are automatically enrolled in our health insurance plan, unless you complete a waiver indicating you are covered by another qualified plan. If you are an international student, you must confirm you are insured by a US-based insurance provider whose coverage is comparable to the RISD student health insurance plan.
