Agency Onboarding
If you’re looking to hire a Federal Work-Study (FWS) student from RISD, we’re here to help. Read below for more information.
Onboarding process
For new agencies:
- If this is your first time employing RISD students, you will need to submit a job description to our office. Make sure to include supervisor contact information, job location and pay rate. Off-campus FWS positions pay a minimum hourly rate of $15.50 (as of January 1, 2023).
- If your job description meets RISD and FWS guidelines, we will make it available to students by posting it on our RISD Careers/ArtWorks Fine Art and Design Opportunity Board.
- Once we receive a student request to work for your agency, we will establish a work agreement contract with you. Work agreement contracts must be updated every two years. When it’s time to update your contract, we will contact you.
For current or returning agencies:
- If you have hired RISD FWS students within the past two years, we will send you a job posting request email prior to the publication of each job directory (spring, summer, and fall). To list a position in our job directory, simply reply to our email with your request and the job you wish to post.
- If the job you wish to post is a new FWS job, submit a job description form to our office or send us an email at studentemployment@risd.edu.
- Once we confirm that your job description meets RISD and FWS guidelines, we will list your position on RISD Careers/ArtWorks.
