Health and Wellness Ambassadors
Central to Health Education and Promotion (HEP) is our team of Health and Wellness Ambassadors (HAWAs). In leading campus events and workshops and providing peer-to-peer education, these student health educators play an essential role in promoting student wellbeing at RISD.
2025–2026 HAWAs

Angie (Anqi) Yan (she/her)
Major(s): Painting
Health/wellness/wellbeing area(s) of interest: cyber safety, virtual health, emotional wellbeing, and social health
Angie is a second-year HAWA and a junior in Painting. She is from Toronto, Canada and grew up with her parents and older sister. She is interested in virtual and social health and advocacy. When she is not working, you can find her in her studio painting and reading, or planning for her next surrealist project.

Cindy An (she/her)
Major(s): Industrial Design, concentration in Computation, Technology, and Culture (CTC) and Nature–Culture–Sustainability Studies (NCSS)
Health/wellness/wellbeing area(s) of interest: mental and emotional well-being, social health, and stress management
Cindy is a first-year HAWA and a sophomore in Industrial Design. Driven by her passion for stress management and emotional wellbeing, she is dedicated to developing and implementing stress management strategies among her peers at RISD, where wellbeing influences artistic practices and emotional and physical health. When she’s not working as a HAWA, you can find her deeply engaged in projects in the Industrial Design building, sipping coffee at Dave’s, or working out at the fitness centers at RISD and Brown. She also loves listening to music and traveling with a sketchbook in hand to capture glimpses of everyday life.

Fabiana Conway (she/her)
Major(s): Textiles and Chemistry
Health/wellness/wellbeing area(s) of interest: interpersonal relationships, emotional regulation, social justice
Fabiana is an aspiring creative from Puerto Rico. She is in the Brown|RISD Dual Degree program concentrating in Textiles (RISD) and Chemistry (Brown). Her artistic practice centers around themes of social justice, sustainability, the Puerto Rican experience, and femininity. Fabiana chose to be a HAWA because she believes that our well-being is what is most important to live a fulfilling life and to challenge a system that commodifies our health. When Fabiana is not clocked in, she likes to read books, dance, write, and dilly-dally on grass.

Jade Sun (she/her)
Major(s): Illustration
Health/wellness/wellbeing area(s) of interest: mental health, nutrition, and disability inclusion
Jade is a first-year HAWA and a sophomore in Illustration from upstate New York. She is passionate about mental wellbeing, specifically stress management, anxiety, and depression. In recent years, Jade has been exploring nutrition and investing time into disability inclusion through extracurriculars and volunteering opportunities. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, photography, reading webcomics, studying Japanese, and playing video games. Jade is an EFS Spatial Studio teaching assistant and is in clubs at both RISD and Brown.

Logan Núñez (he/him)
Major(s): Painting
Health/wellness/wellbeing area(s) of interest: emotional wellbeing, social and domestic health
Logan Núñez is a second-year Painting major, originally from Philadelphia, PA. His practice engages questions of social justice, domestic life, and the layered intersections of memory and place. Beyond the studio, Logan works as a HAWA and as a teaching assistant for first-year drawing. He is also one of three brothers, and values the time he spends with them as a grounding influence that shapes his perspective on family and belonging. When not teaching or painting, Logan can be found wandering the Fleet Library, or exploring Providence.

Luna Tobar (she/they/he)
Major(s): Illustration, concentration in Literary Arts and Studies
Health/wellness/wellbeing area(s) of interest: sexual health, physical health
Luna Tobar is currently a senior in Illustration, and was raised in Los Angeles, CA. She is a second-year HAWA and excited to be returning to the program. They are interested in sexual health and promoting nutrition amongst students at RISD. When they’re not working or doing schoolwork, you can find them at various coffee shops in the College Hill area where they like to read, write, and relax.

Paige Sias (she/her)
Major(s): Apparel Design
Health/wellness/wellbeing area(s) of interest: physical health, mental health, time management, alcohol and substance awareness
Paige Sias is a third-year HAWA and a senior in Apparel Design. Originally from Louisiana, her work explores the southern Black experience and the nuances of Black femininity. She is passionate about a wide variety of health and wellness topics and overall student wellbeing. On campus she also works as a resident assistant in the Hill Houses and an Apparel Design teaching assistant. When she is not working, you can find her in the studio, spending time with her sorority sisters, hanging out around campus, or trying new restaurants around Providence.

Sabrina Zhang (she/they)
Major(s): Painting, concentration Literary Arts and Studies
Health/wellness/well-being area(s) of interest: sexual and reproductive health, mindfulness, emotional health, mental health, holistic health and wellness
Sabrina is a third-year HAWA and a senior in the Painting department. She is passionate about sexual health and wellness and looks forward to planning and participating in Sex Week every year. When she is not painting or working as a HAWA, you can find them working in the Painting department's woodshop, learning French, and browsing the Fleet Library. Sabrina’s favorite bird is the Canada goose, and they enjoy watching the birds in the canal.
